The Penryn Neighbourhood Plan Launch was held on Saturday 25th March, 11am-2pm in the Temperance Hall in Penryn.
The aims of the launch were to:
Publicise that a Neighbourhood Plan for Penryn is being written
Explain what a Neighbourhood Plan is
Outline the timeline and process of writing a Neighbourhood Plan
Introduce the Steering Committee and invite new members
Share some of the existing local planning work and community groups’ work which will inform the Neighbourhood Plan
Share the draft Vision Statement for the Plan
Invite comments around the themes of the Vision Statement
82 people visited, spoke to members of the Steering Committee and left their thoughts and ideas.
The creators of Penrynopoly from Exeter University were also there with their fantastic community themed game. You can find out more about Penrynopoly here.
Ideas and comments collected will be fed back in future consultation events.
Visitors also recorded ‘Penryn Hopes’ which were symbolically planted with a sunflower seed. The aim is for these ideas to grow and develop with the Neighbourhood Plan.
